If you live outside the State of Florida, please visit the American Shetland Sheepdog Association (ASSA) website and look under their "Breeder Network" section for the name of the breeder referral contact in your area. This contact person should have knowledge of those in your area who would have puppies available for placement.
Please do not
purchase a puppy from a pet store or backyard breeder. Research who to buy
a puppy from and be patient. Good puppies do not come from indiscriminate
breeding. Puppy mills breed misery.
Ethical breeders test their breeding adults. I
also feel a quality breeder should exhibit their adults in conformation.
Otherwise, how is one supposed to measure the quality of their breeding stock.
